A broad cross section of the industry will be represented at the exhibition including plastics recycling machinery and equipment suppliers, plastic material suppliers and compounders, handling and logistics services, pre-processors, plastics recyclers, waste management specialists, industry associations and project management consultants.

Tomra Sorting’s (Stand C34) new Autosort Flake allows for simultaneous triple-sorting of recycled PET flake. Its sensor technology also detects metal and offers twin-processing mode for the best possible waste throughput and a constant high-calibre output. The latest generation machine can do the job of two separate units and with more precision, helping to reduce the loss of quality material. Pellenc ST (Stand 42) will present its Mistral+ sorting technology for mixed waste streams, which offers improved simplicity of use, reliability and performance. The machine includes an improved detection system, a 50% better electro valve response time, and a 50% reduction in lighting power with the same signal quality. Maintenance time is also halved thanks to platforms that allow the operator to safely clean the detection system without stopping the sorting line.

KraussMaffei Berstorff (Stand B32) and Artec (Stand B22) have jointly developed Edelweiss technology, a system which combines recycling and compounding in a single cycle. It is designed for processing polyolefin and polyamide scraps containing more than 2% of contaminants and residual moisture of up to 12%. Thanks to a modular screw and barrel design, the system can be tailored to any compound composition. Lines are designed for output rates ranging between 300 kg/h and 2.5 tonnes/h. The latest RecoStar Dynamic 215 line from Starlinger (Stand D16) is designed to handle a wide range of films, fibres and post-consumer waste plastics. It is especially suited to moist, hygroscopic or highly contaminated input materials.

On Stand B72, Vecoplan’s new HydroDyn system combines shredding technology, washing and drying processes for various plastics in a closed process. The system can handle a wide variety of plastic waste, including shredded and heavily soiled materials, stretch film, hard plastics, packaging, and technical plastics.

Hellweg Maschinenbau (Stand C22) has extended its 600 series granulator range. The new M 1500/600 granulator is able to offer enormous torque, due to the high stability of the machine housing and a heavy duty rotor. Depending on the material to be granulated and the size of the screen block used, throughput reaches around 800 to 2,500 kg/h.

Weima Maschinenbau (Stand A44) has launched a new shredder, the WLK 1000. The single-shaft shredder features a hydraulic drive for the first time. The unit is suitable for shredding thermoplastics, such as PE, PP, PVC, PS, PU and PET, along with other plastic and elastomer types.

RPC bpi recycled products (Stand B78) can help dispose of a wide range of plastic waste from across Europe. The company’s extensive infrastructure and new technology enables recycled materials to be turned into second life quality products that include refuse and recycling sacks, building films, outdoor furniture and landscaping products.
